The story takes place several years after the events of the fifth film. Tony Todd's character, Frankie, has passed away, but his eerie warnings about death's design have become a sort of urban legend.

Final Destination 6: Rebirth

Translated to English: "Warning! Death is coming. Can't escape. Frankie said that. But I couldn't believe it!"

Cut to our main protagonist, Ethan, a brilliant engineer in his late 20s who has just started working on the maglev train project. He's haunted by a tragic event from his past, where his younger sister died in a preventable accident. Ethan's guilt and sense of responsibility drive him to ensure the maglev train is the safest mode of transportation.

The film opens with a prologue showing a young woman named Maya, who has a premonition about a catastrophic accident on a state-of-the-art, high-speed magnetic levitation train. Maya sees herself and several others on the train when it suddenly derails and crashes.
